I got a distinction for the Tale of Temptation, in Bournmouth Uni

Lighting done, everything in place

Realy Pleased! so happy with my choice of lighting it looks better in real life. Everything is great, got to concider the apple positions if i want to keep them there as you carnt see them much, but are clearer when you see it in person. Overall great!

Apple in place lighting tests

Apple has been placed on stage and lighting is being tested. The Red light at the back of stage i realy like as it creats more depth to the scene. An atmosphere as though a question of what is learking behind.

Fabric Pelmet made and hung. So pleased i can finally see it all coming together.

Using my new method to support and create my new solid apple i have finally hopefully finished my apple

BAD Apple

A matter of weeks untill the final show and weeks worth of work the final peice for the centre stage has collapsed. A desaster however at least this has happend at this stage were i can start again. A new stratagy must be concidered.

Making Smaller apples

I have begun to create the smaller apples which surround the main apple. I have taken real apples, varieing in size (cooking apples, granny smiths) and have used the same method as the large centre apple and used degummed silk filiment waste and covered them. Then i intend to cut them open and remove the apples. I have kept these plain as i feel they will be more effective.

Testing ideas

I have sampled some ideas for the decoration of the apple, by creating smaller scale apples and decorated using, pomigranet seeds, leaves, and twiglets. I feel they are effective in a small scale but on a much larger scale apple may not have the impact. Also i feel it would be too much of a risk to add on the apple as i am extremly happy with the overall look so far. Also i am concidering including a feature of a snake in the centre of the apple to create a feature within. Creating a stronger link to the creation story.

Progress with A Tale of Temptation

This is the progress so far into creating my final peice. The apple is not yet in place however shown in the photo is the foam template. The hanging method is complete along with the fabric layers. Area need 'touching' up to ensure i capture the purity i wish to find through this creation. Also i will introduce further trees and i must begin to assess lighting techniques. Overall i am pleased with the progress so far.

Visit- Made in the Middle

Made in the Middle exhibition Birmingham Mac, a small collection, great with a contemporay collection. I love Jennifer Colliers collection. As usualy she creates such beautiful peices. This sewing Machine was just fab and the hoover she created a great peice.

Mia Pearlman layers of paper construction the use of the tunneling effect is great as it draws the eye to the smallest point and directs it through the layers. I have been inspired by this and will follow the same/ similar aspect within my piece.

Pipilotti Rist, i love the suspendedgarments of underwear the lighting is beautiful and would be great for my apple idea. The shades of colour remind me of the theatrical setting and demonstrates how lighting can add emotion and depth to a piece.  

Genisis Project

Plan; As my project is based on the story of Adam and Eve i have decided to take a clip of the tale and recreate it through a theatre stage setting. Within this i shell make a centre stage focal point this being the apple of temptation this will be made out of gummed silk (experimenting currently) this will contain peices of baked/dried apple and rose petals (a simbol of love) this will be lite with either a pulsing light or still (preferably red) infront of this i will create several (3 or 4) layers of fabric or paper (fine) material and shell hold the pattern of trees (apple). Through the centre of these shell be a tunnel created through the pattern and shell develop and lead towards the apple of temptation. I am concidering lighting and sound at this stage. I feel lite right it shell create and almost eary feel and shadowing will appear.

looking at the shapes and shade of pink/ red allow me to focus the details around the apple trees. This will be a great reference to my piece as a concideration for my final peice

Dispite wanting to go into a career within the make up industry i feel its always  good idea to keep an eye on the other industrys within the theatre production such as costume and props, as make up designs work closely with each industry.
Some research on sStell Mc Carneys latest adventure into costume designs, although she is a strong figure within fashion she has taken a journey into the world of costume.

Artist Carol Jones

I have been looking for artists within the textile/ embroidery industry after looking through some embroidery mags i have found artist Carol Jones. I like this style of work as she has created something which is unusual and yet reachable for a young person to recreate.

Male Life Model

We had our first Male life drawing class, i thought it would be a lot more difficult and tougher to draw compared to the previous lady model. I was right, it was more challenging i felt you had to enhance slight curves he had into much more to create more shape. Despite this i feel i have a few strong pieces of which i shell use within my portfolio.

I have began to take a look at pupets that are well known and recognised to the public, one i particularly like is the Comfort Fabric Softener asociations.

Puppet Creating - Forkbeard Fantasy inspiration

I decided to take a new look at the my work of faces, and begin aa new angle towards my overall theme. I had recomendations from Forkbeard Fantasy Exhibition although a didnt attend this event i have viewed photographs of peices within the exhibition. It is an event based around past theatre props including fabric and embroidered peices such as animals and pupets ect.
